Are immigrants more likely to have no job?

Many opponents of immigration fear that immigration increases unemployment.

So are immigrants more or less likely to be unemployed?
It depends on where they live.

If the economy is not doing well, immigrants are more likely than native-borns to be unemployed. For example, in Greece, Spain, and Italy the unemployment rate among foreign-born residents is significantly higher than unemployment rate among local born people.

On the other hand, if the economy is healthy, especially of the construction and agricultural sectors are doing well, like in the U.S., the unemployment rate among immigrants is actually lower than among locals.
