X-CULTURE BACKGROUND
- Since X-Culture was launched in 2010, over 120,000 students from 900 universities in 95 countries on six continents have completed the project. Of those, over 6,000 students were from UNCG.
- During the project, each UNCG student is on an international team. Each team is comprised of seven students, each from a different country. The team members develop consulting projects for real companies. Typically, there are a dozen client companies, each from a different country and different industry.
- This way, the students serve as international business consultants for a semester and thus gain international business experience while also working in international teams, dealing with time zones and cultural and language differences, and learning the challenges and best practices of international collaboration.
- X-Culture has also organized 15 Global Symposia, face-to-face meetings of the best students. Up to 150 students from 40 countries attend each event, which is held in a different country each time and typically lasts one week. Past symposia have been held in Canada, Italy, Poland, Thailand, and the U.S.
